The Price of Getting What You Want
Is getting what you once wanted.
We all want what we cannot have. Why? Who knows, it could even be just because we want to know how it feels like to own the thing we want.
Whether we still want it after we get it though, is a different matter altogether. Be careful what you wish for, for the price of getting what you want, is getting what you once wanted.
So we have what we want. We are happy with it, we treasure it and we carry on with our life.
But sometimes, in getting what we desire, we no longer want it. The quest for the unattainable, the thrill of the chase, whatever it was that made us desire it in the first place, is no longer there. And then we discard whatever it was that we used to covet, throwing it aside like a broken trinket.
And what of those sacrifices that we make in our effort to get what we want? We may had thrown away friendships. Destroyed. Betrayed. Killed. All for what? To obtain something you really wanted but didn't really want in the end.

I remember this line very clear from years ago. =)
I remembered telling you in KGS...
'We always want what we cannot have'
And somehow it is something I will always remember because it applies to many many things.. including taking TOM YAM soup which I can't handle but STILL WANT IT. =P
Haha..I used that very same line for my profile in both the 2005 and 2007 school magazine. =P
KGS, the only time we were at KGS was Sports Day with Felicity right? Heh..good memory. I can't remember where you told me, though I do remember you did say it to me before.
Not sports day. MSSM. The one week our whole school had no class. We spent the whole week at KGS helping out. The good old days.
Helping out at the Sarawak Stadium you mean.
oops.. sorry.. not KGS =P mistake!
