300
The long anticipated wait is over. 300 came out yesterday, and I'll be catching it tonight. Even though I'd like to watch it yesterday, I didn't expect to watch it so soon but Sean messaged and tonight, I'll dine in hell (to quote King Leonidas in the movie). Hehe.
Still haven't gotten my hands on the graphic novel yet. I did have a chance when I was in KL in December, but the hefty pricetag (RM 100) put me off for the time being.
I can't wait for tonight!
UPDATE: Rocking movie. Was well worth the wait. If you intend on watching the movie, be warned that it's a slaughterfest, with more than it's fair share of dismembered limbs and heads, though it shouldn't be that bad as I can't stomach strong gore, and this movie didn't disturbed me at all. This movie makes killing and dying with honour, oh-so-cool.
The movie also had it's fair share of quotable dialog and though some might say the lines being bellowed by King Leonidas to be cliche, but I think they rocked regardless.
For your information, although the Battle of Thermopylae and the general events in the movie really did happen, some of the things portrayed in the movie were greatly exaggerated, to make the movie cooler and more entertaining I presume. Nothing wrong with that, and the movie (and the comic which it's based on) never claimed to portray history accurately. So that would answer your question on whether Xerxes was really 8 feet tall and a transvestite, among other things.
300, you can say it's like Lord of the Rings but without the gay 'But Mr. Frodo! No SAM!' crap. Heh. Let's admit, most people enjoyed LotR only because of the battle scenes.
300. If you like epic battles and last stands, heroic sacrifices, cool dialog and general awesomeness, this is the movie for you. Watch it.
